Dean Edward Culp, 72 , of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on October 23, 1944 to Edward and Colleen (Snodgrass) Culp in Paulding, Ohio. Dean served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966. On April 1, 1967 he married Fran (Posey) Culp, who resides in Defiance. Dean worked at General Motors for 35 years as a Departmental Clerk, retiring in 2001. He was a man of many talents. Dean loved being with his family.

Dean will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Fran Culp of Defiance, daughter, Deanna (Shane) Miller of Defiance, sons, Chris (Christal) Culp of Shelbyville, Indiana,  Jeff  (Carrie) Culp of Defiance, six grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites accorded by VFW #3360.
