Dawn C. Davis, age 61 of Defiance, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on December 29, 1963 to the late Lynn and Josephine (Martinez) Roehrig in Napoleon, Ohio. On July 7, 1984 she married Harold Jon Davis, who survives.
Dawn was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked for several years as a cook for Defiance City Schools. She was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed bird watching, crafts, quilting and puzzles. Dawn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who treasured her time spent with her family.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband Jon Davis of Defiance, her children; Heather (Joseph) Young and Derek (Nicole) Davis, all of Defiance, Chelsey (Raghava) Nagaraj of Charlotte, NC, and Zachary Davis of Defiance, and eight grandchildren; Mikaylie Young, Emelia Davis, Ellenore Davis, Derek J. Davis, Zander Harold Davis, Parker Davis, Madelyn Davis and Shyla Dawn Nagaraj. She also leaves behind her siblings; Tara (Dave) Kaufman, Olin "Marty" (Sherry) Roehrig, Christopher (Kristen) Roehrig, Brett (Gloria) Roehrig, and Corrinne (Brad) Kunesh, four sisters-in-law, Susie Geiger, Linda (Paul) Bogatko, Cindy (Tim) Predieri and Mary Kay Emerson, her canine furbabies, "Lily", "Lallie" and "Lacey", and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Lia Joy Roehrig. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 25th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. Dawn will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
