David J. Zimmer, 53, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, July 13, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 22, 1962 to Larry and Mildred (Impton) Zimmer in Bryan, Ohio. David worked at McDonalds Restaurant, was active in the Special Olympics, and volunteered at Good Samaritan School. David is survived by his brother, Steve (Diane) Zimmer of Logansport, Indiana, sisters, Theresa (Jeff) Finch of New Castle, Indiana, and Brenda Zimmer of Montpelier, Ohio. He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Julie Zimmer, and brother, Terry Zimmer. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm on  Friday, July 17, 2015 at the funeral home, with Pastor Timothy Reynolds officiating. Burial will take place in the Shiffler Cemetery, Williams County. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
