David M Young, 35, of New Bavaria, known by many as "Big Dave" passed away on  Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Toledo Hospital from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.

He was born on January 10, 1978 to Daniel and Karen (Nally) Young in Defiance.

David worked for Johns Manville  for 171/2 years and was a member of GMP Union Local #51.    He enjoyed farming, riding his Harley-Davidson, snowmobiling and, was an avid hunter.

David is survived by his parents, Daniel F. and Karen Young of Holgate, brother, Danny (Debbie) Young of Holgate, sister, Kathy (Tom) Cramer of Defiance, girlfriend, Jennifer Newman of Defiance, grandparents, Vernon and Betty Young of Ayersville, Clifford and Madge Nally of Defiance, nephews, Jacob Cramer, Bradley, Brock &, Braylon Young and a niece, Emma Cramer.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Loreda K Nally and a cousin, Jason Young.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 and  from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Defiance Church of the Nazarene, Defiance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at  Defiance Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Donald Leonard, Rev. Sam Suman and Rev. Tim Bess officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

The family request memorials be made the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in honor of his mother.
