David Charles Whetstone, 60, of Napoleon, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

He was born on June 27, 1954 to Elbern and Evelyn (Franklin) Whetstone in Defiance, Ohio. David enjoyed nature and spent quality time outdoors fishing and camping. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar, and he had a knack for fixing cars. David will especially be remembered for his good sense of humor.

David is survived by his daughter, Brandi Whetstone and spouse Kris Hedges of Columbus, Ohio, brothers, Richard (Julie) Whetstone of  Bradenton, Florida, and Robert Whetstone of Brandon, Florida, sisters, Ellen (Chuck) Bauer of Bradenton, Florida, and Janet (Bob) Foster of  The Woodlands, Texas, and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbern and Evelyn Whetstone, and sister-in-law, Marge Whetstone, and his niece Cathy Kuehne.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, where a Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance at a later date.
