David Paul Westrick, 67, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 15, 1956, to Walter and Elnora (Bunke) Westrick in Defiance, OH. David worked as a Diesel Mechanic for GM for 47 years. He married Patricia Sandys on February 24, 1984. David loved playing with his granddaughter Rory. In his spare time, he loved working on cars and doing home improvements. David was always very supportive of his kids. David is survived by his father, Walter Westrick of Defiance; sons, Dylan Michael Westrick, of Defiance and Christopher David (Kelsea) Westrick of Dublin, OH; and stepson, Brian Hastings of Holgate. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Vivian Aurora Westrick, Jackson, Treyvon, D'Andre, and AuBrianna Hastings; siblings, Gary (Helen) Westrick of Maumee, Cheryl Doyle of Napoleon, and Karen (Shawn) Moore of Ada, OH, He was preceded in death by his mother, Elnora Westrick and his wife, Patricia Westrick. Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm & 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. Burial of Ashes will take place in the Ayersville Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the K.A.V.I.C. (Keller Assists Veterans in Crisis) or J.D.R.F.
