David A. Sherry, 59, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his residence, with his family by his side. He was born on May 6, 1956 to Rex and Betty (Bair) Sherry in Paulding, Ohio. On May 20, 2005 he married Paula (Irwin) Sherry, who survives. David was the Soil and Water Conservationist for Fulton County, Ohio. He also worked as the head mechanic at Isaac Corporation for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. David is survived by his wife, Paula Sherry of Defiance, sons, Jerry F. (Ruby) Sherry, David E. (Sherry Casarez) Sherry, Jeremiah D. (Jackie) Sherry, Jacob P. (Sheena) Sherry, and Jonas J. (Amber) Sherry, all of Defiance, daughter, Joanna Sherry of Hartford, Kentucky, nephew and also Dave's favorite hunting and trapping partner, Kyle Ratliff, 11 grandchildren, brothers, William (Linda) Sherry of Defiance, and Daniel (Jennifer) Sherry of Texas, sister, Carol (Lee) Rusell of Defiance, brother-in-law, Paul Finnegan of Defiance, and sister-in-law, Deb Sherry of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jeffery Sherry, sisters, Jeanette Rollins and Retha Finnegan, and brother-in-law, Arther Rollins. A celebration of David's life will take place with his family members at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
