David J. Serda, 90, of Defiance, died Friday evening, June 3, 2011 in his son's home in Deshler. He was born Dec. 29, 1920 in Mexico. He was the son of the late Simon and Stephanie (Jaime) Serda. He married Audelia Martinez in 1958 and she survives. David worked for G.M. Central Foundry from 1954 to 1986. Besides his wife, surviving are three sons John David Serda of Deshler, Simon of Toledo and Paul of Albuquerque, New Mexico, five daughters, Mary Coles of Defiance, Janet of Dayton, Marie of Toledo, Betty of Bellingham, Washington and Gloria of Defiance. 26 grandchildren and 14 great grand children. He was from a family of 12 brothers and sisters and the last to die. Private services for his family are June 9, 2011 in the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance. Suggested memorials are to the Defiance Area Hospice.
