David D. McKenzie, 60, of Defiance, and  formerly of Albany, Ohio, passed away on  Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. He was born on July 29, 1955 to Joe and Rose McKenzie in Columbus, Ohio. On  March 18, 1983 he married Patricia Ann Roddy McKenzie. David served our country in the U.S. Army, and worked at Johns Manville for 27 years. He was a loving father, son, brother, husband and grandfather. He loved hunting, spending time with friends, family, and his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family; wife Patricia, mother Rose Wright McKenzie, sisters Joyce (Jasper) Oliver, Darlene (Bill) Westrick, all of Albany, Ohio, and brother Chris McKenzie of Athens, uncle Gene McKenzie and aunt Maxine Seagrams,  in-laws  Robert (Donna) Roddy, brothers-in-law Robert "Bob" Roddy and Rick Roddy. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Amy Sue Oswalt of Beaver, Ohio, sons Joe (Heather) McKenzie of Defiance, Jeff McKenzie (Tierney Christian) of Beaver, Ohio, Michael  (Melissa) McKenzie of Brighton, Colorado, and grandchildren Hunter McKenzie, Hannah McKenzie, Emalee McKenzie, and Jayden McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his father Joe P. McKenzie, uncles and aunts, Ora, Becky, Eual, Hattie and Paul. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Myers officiating. Memorials may be directed to Patricia McKenzie.
