David R. McConnell, 69, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday morning, August 15, 2019 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. He was born on June 11, 1950 to John and Martha (Kline) McConnell in Ashland, Ohio. David worked for several years in the foam industry.  He retired as a lab manager for Future Foam in Thomasville, North Carolina. David was a dog lover, and enjoyed reading, sporting events, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. David will be sadly missed by his son, Sean (Mandi) McConnell of Defiance, daughter, Amy (Scott) Gagliardi of Conifer, CO, and two brothers, Larry (Cindy) McConnell and Ron McConnell, all of Ashland, OH. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren; Hayden, Levi, Garrett, Marshall, and Haleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 19th at 11am.  The service will be held at the Ayersville United Methodist Church  27728 Ayersville Pleasant Bend Rd.
