David L. Hale, 61, of Defiance, passed away on December 21, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on April 16, 1951 to Lester and Mary (Carr) Hale in Defiance, OH. David was a Co-Owner for Gale E. Hale Co.selling Baldwin Pianos and Organs. On August 19, 1993 he married Rebecca Pina.

He was a 1969 grad of Defiance H.S., a member of DAV, American Legion, and Eagles Aerie 372, all of Defiance OH.

David is survived by his loving spouse Rebecca Hale of Defiance, OH, sons, Corey (Tracy) Hale of Defiance, OH, and Chad Hale of Savannah, GA, daughter, Christina Short of Toledo, OH, Step-daughters, Mary Jane Winkler of Defiance, OH, Tiffany (Anthony) Decker of Defiance, OH, and Ashley Holifield of Defiance, OH, 8 Grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Mitchell Hale.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, & Thursday, December 27, 2012 10:00 am - 11:00 am prior to services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012, 11:00 am at the St John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Donald L Luhring, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Defiance OH.

Memorials are suggested to St John Lutheran Church.
