Bidlack
July 9, 1944 – November 15, 2022
David O. Bidlack, age 78 of Cecil, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2022. He was born on July 9, 1944 to the late Olan and Myrtle (Miller) Bidlack in Defiance, Ohio. On July 13, 1963 he married Sharon (Fockler) Bidlack who survives. David was a truck driver for Maxey Trucking in Bryan, OH for 23 years and then worked for Advance Auto Parts until his retirement. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing pool and horseshoes. David was always willing to help anyone in need. He treasured his time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. David will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon, his son, David (Stacy) Bidlack of Cecil, OH, and daughters; Sherry (Randy) Richards of Antwerp, OH, Carol (Kevin) Goldsbury of Georgia, Brenda (Gilbert) Bender of Indiana, and Lisa Bentley of Virginia. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, four brothers; Ron Bidlack, Terry Bidlack, Mike Relyea and Chuck Relyea, and eight sisters; Cindy Hubert, Kathy Rippetoe, Stephanie Cox, Pam Brunner, Becky Relyea, Deborah Brown, Darlene Kipp and Elizabeth Yocklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Relyea, daughter, Ann Bidlack, great-grandson, Austin Bidlack, brothers, Rick Bidlack, Joe Relyea and Bill Relyea, and his sister, Marie Relyea. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton St.) in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Todd Murray officiating. Burial will take place at Rochester Cemetery in Cecil, Ohio. Memorials are suggested to ELARA Caring Hospice.
