David Gordon "Beastie" Lichty, age 48, of South Bend, IN passed away at 1:30 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.  David was born August 13, 1965 in Defiance, OH and lived there most of his life.  He moved to South Bend in 2012 to be near his fishing buddy, Jimmie Adkins Jr.

David is survived by his son, Chance Lichty of Defiance, OH; his mother, Joyce (King) Lichty; sister, Ellen (Allen) Upp; and two brothers, Donald (Dwyn) Lichty and Dennis (Vickie) Lichty, all of Defiance, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Ward Lichty.

David graduated from Defiance High School. He loved to fish in Tippecanoe Lake, Berrien Springs Dam and the Manistee in Cadillac, MI, just to name a few.  He enjoyed tying flies for himself and others.  David also loved to ride motorcycles.

Family and friends are invited to Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, to remember and celebrate the life of David on Saturday, August 2, 2014, from 2:00-4:00 pm.
