David J. Davis David J. Davis, age 65, of Oakwood, Oh , passed away at 6:00 P:M , Friday, May 8th, 2009 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 27, 1943, he was the son of Virgil and Betty (Fruchey) Davis. He was born again June 1974. He was a member of the Rock Church of rural Oakwood. He had been a pre teen Sunday school teacher at Grace Tabernacle, and Adult Sunday school. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from G.M. Powertrain in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the UAW 211, AARP and the NRA. He loved God, family, bible study, hunting and riding motorcycles. He married Okie Nam Aug. 25, 1973 and she survives. Also surviving are 3 sons: Michael of Columbus, Matthew of Oakwood and Virgil (Emily) Davis II of Alaska. 4 grandsons: David James Davis II, Kai, Samual and Mason. His mother and stepfather: Betty (Millard) Keith of Lake Orion, Mich. 3 sisters: Valeria (Edwin) Stratton of Ft. Myers, Fl. Ellen (Tom) DeLore of Pontiac, Mich. Kathy (John) Urech of Pennsylvania. A brother: Walter Keith of Michigan. Preceded in death by his father Virgil. Religious Service at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, at 2:00 P:M on Tuesday, May 12th, with Rev. Bobby Branham officiating. Friends are invited to call Monday 2-4 & 6-9 and Tuesday 1-2 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.
