Datha "Dee" I. Thorp, age 86 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on July 22, 1938 to the late Virgil and Erma (Kennedy) Holman in Defiance, Ohio. Dee was a graduate of Ayersville High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Defiance. She worked as a secretary for Defiance College for several years. Dee enjoyed her involvement in community events and she always kept busy. She was an active volunteer at Friends of Felines and had a passion and love for cats. Dee is survived by her son, Sean Thorp of Wauseon, OH, her sister, Bonnie (Robert) Warncke of Defiance, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Dr. Douglas Holman and Craig Holman. Per her wishes there will be no visitation or services. A private burial will be held at Ayersville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center, Ft. Defiance Humane Society, or Friends of Felines.
