Darrell John Ordway, age 75 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on December 27, 1947 to the late Lloyd and Beryl (Ridgley) Ordway in Defiance, Ohio. Darrell proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1967-1968 during the Vietnam War. On September 19, 1969  he married Carolyn K. Siler, who preceded him in death on April 8, 2018. Darrell was a dedicated member of Americal Division Veteran Association. He worked for several years as a Mechanic at TJ Automation until his retirement. Family was very important to him and he always supported his daughter and grandchildren. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and kayaking. Darrell was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Darrell will be sadly missed by his daughter Dawn (Scott) Buchholz of Defiance, his sister, Laurina "Sue" (Ben) Ordway of Defiance, and two grandsons. Jacob and Jared Buchholz, both of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carolyn Ordway. Friends may visit the family on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Memorials are suggested to Ft. Defiance Humane Society, or CHP Defiance Hospice Center.
