(Blake) Voigt
May 21, 1937 – July 19, 2025
Darlene J. "Tyke" Voigt, age 88 of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 while being lovingly cared for by CHP Hospice of Defiance.
She was born in Deshler, Ohio, on May 21, 1937 to Thomas and Helen (Tussing) Blake. On August 18, 1956 she married Paul W. Voigt, the love of her life, who preceded her.
Darlene was an active member of Christ our Savior Lutheran Church. She was a resident of Kingsbury Place Assisted Living and enjoyed the friends she made there, both residents and staff. Darlene was a gifted listener who dispensed sound advice with a great sense of humor. Darlene enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles with family and friends of all ages. She cherished her time spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul W. Voigt, her parents, Thomas and Helen Blake, and her sister, Roberta Holley.
She is survived by her four loving daughters; Joan (Dennis) Bowers, Jennifer (Chuck) Florence, Mary Jane (Greg) Miller all of Defiance, Rebecca (David) Herring of Port St Lucie FL, her brother; Thomas (Cindy) Blake of Hamilton, IN, and her cherished niece; Hope Holley of Defiance. Darlene also leaves behind her 12 grandchildren; Paul (Michelle) Bowers, Lisa (Chris) Maxwell, Sallyann (Craig) Miles, Emily (Zac) Collins, Rebecca (Tyler) Flory, Charlie (Larissa) Florence, Matthew (Sara) Nance, Julie Nance, Ryan (Cassie) Herring, Kayla Temple, Ben (Susan) Miller, Blake Miller, her 19 great-grandchildren, as well as her several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St John Lutheran Church in Defiance, with Reverend Terry Cripe officiating. Visitation will take place at the church 2 hours prior to the service from 9:00 a.m-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
