Daniel W. Forbess, 71, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at home.

He was born on November 1, 1952 to Ronald and Lois Forbess in Fostoria, Ohio. In 1975, he married Linda Wolff.

He worked as a Foreman for Browns Bakery until his injury in 2008. He formerly worked at ConAgra. Dan enjoyed going to NASCAR races, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes football, and was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Lois Forbess, of Defiance; his son, Chad (Lynnette) Forbess, of Defiance; his sister, Tracy (William) Brooks of Punta Gorda, Florida; his brothers, Dean (Sharon) Forbes of New Haven, Indian and Darrell (Karen) Forbess of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and his granddaughter, Jade Forbess, of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his father.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Dan will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
