Daniel L. Bauer Daniel L. Bauer, 63, of Defiance, passed away Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on October 18, 1954, he was the son of the late Vernon and Velma (Osborn) Bauer. Dan was a 1973 graduate of Ayersville High School. He was the husband of Lori (Hesselschwardt) Bauer. They were married May 24, 1975, He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a church usher at the 8:30 mass for years. Dan had worked as a custodian at Good Samaritan School for 38 years retiring in 2014. Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Lori, Son: Jeremiah (Sara) Bauer of Brunswick, OH Sister: Terry Raines of Defiance, Brother: Cliff (Sandy) Bauer of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents William and Mary Bauer and Carl and Mae Osborn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20th, with Father Eric Mueller officiating. Visitation is Thursday 5-8 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. with a 7:30 p.m. Vigil Service. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
