Dale W. Ott
Dale W. Ott, 83, of Defiance, passed away Monday, February 17th, 2014 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born in Paulding County on July 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Leo and Wilma (Varner) Ott.
Dale was employed at Landmark Inc. for 38 years where he was a branch manager at Defiance Landmark and manager of the petroleum division at Sherwood Landmark.
He served overseas in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, was a member of St. John Catholic Church, a church usher and served as a Defiance Township Trustee for about 10 years.
Dale was married May 21, 1955 to Edith (Westrick) Ott who survives. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Edith and six children: Kenneth (Deb) Ott, Elaine Ott, Laurie Blosser, David (Angie Coffman) Ott, Karen (Delbert) Hackworth, Debra (Tim) Holtsberry,
all of Defiance.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother in law Marion Hammer and family friend Pat Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Raymond, Harold and Donald Ott, sisters; Helen Henrich and Margery Hammer
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21st, with Father Todd Dominique officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday 2-8 p.m. and Friday 9-10:30 a.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service on Thursday.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery where VFW Post 3 3360 will conduct honorary military rites
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice
