Dale D. Lather Dale D. Lather, 75, of Defiance, passed away Friday, August 26th, 2011 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Henry County, West Hope, Ohio on October 9, 1935, he was the son of the late Orville and Helen (Myer) Lather. Dale was an Army veteran, a member of Defiance AM VETS #1991, and a member of Second Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Lyons High School. He had worked as an inspector at G. M. Central Foundry for over 39 years and retired in 1993. Dale married Linda (Trowbridge) Lather in 1997 and she survives. Dale will be sadly missed by his loving wife Linda, Daughters: Linary King of Atlanta, Georgia, Kristina Massey of Kingsland, Georgia. Sons: Timothy (Sharon) Wigg of Oral Roberts, Georgia, Kenneth (Lisa) Wigg of Salt Lake City, Utah Sister: Teresa Gearis of New Hampshire Brothers: James Lather of Dallas, Texas, Robert (Diana) Lather of Napoleon, Oh., Ron (Loralee) Lather of St. James, Missouri He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Preceded in death by a step daughter; Brenda Boese, a brother; Larry Lather, a sister; Carol Plassman and his parents. Services at Second Baptist Church, Defiance at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 Monday , August 29 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Visitation will also be from 10-11 Wednesday morning at the church. Burial will be at Riverview Memory Gardens where VFW Post # 3360 will conduct honorary military rites.
