Cynthia D. Steffel CRNA, age 55, of Temperance, MI and formerly of Defiance, OH passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born February 17, 1960 to Lawrence and Janice Steffel in Defiance, OH. She is survived by her mother Janice Steffel of Defiance, brother Lawrence (Sharon) Steffel Jr. of Demotte, Indiana, niece Sarah (Richard) Sears of Demotte, two great nieces, one great nephew of Demotte, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Steffel Sr. and a niece and a nephew. Cynthia worked her entire medical career at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. She retired in December 2014 from Associated Anesthesiologist of Toledo Ohio Inc., due to cancer. She had lived in Temperance, Michigan for the past 16 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 21st at St. Michael's Catholic Church 5489 Moser Rd. Defiance, OH. Her family will receive friends 10 - 11 a.m. Monday, in the church, one hour before services. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials are to cancer research, the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center or the donor's choice.
