Curtis Blanchard, 76, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on  Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, OH.

He was born on March 13, 1941 to Orland and Dorothy (Folk) Blanchard in Defiance. On June 13, 1970 he married Eleanor (Heidepriem) Blanchard, who preceded him in death on January 15, 2014.

Curtis was a member of First Baptist Church in Defiance. He earned his Apprenticeship Degree from IBEW #8, and worked as an electrician for several years as a self-contractor throughout Ohio. Curtis enjoyed going to the Senior Center, and walking at the mall everyday. He had a very big heart and will be missed by many.

Curtis is survived by his daughter, Michelle (John Alan ) Robinson, special friend, Rob (Janet) Kaminski, son, Todd (Cindi) Bush, grandson William (Tracie) Johns, brothers, Darrel (Peggy) Blanchard and Dan (Janet) Blanchard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor M Blanchard, and brother, Loren Blanchard.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Ron Monteith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
