Craig F. Hostettler Craig F. Hostettler, 66, of Defiance, passed away Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Defiance, on October 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Francis "Hoss" and Leolea "Toad" (Mekus) Hostettler. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church Defiance, Oh. On Aug. 8, 1987 Craig married Sally (Lero) Hostettler who survives. He worked as a Railroad track inspector at CSX Transportation for past 34 years. Craig was a 1961 graduate of Defiance High School. He attended Ohio State University, Tri-State College and Automotive Technical School in Los Angeles, Ca. He was a member of St. John Catholic church, the Knights of Columbus, the Sierra Club, and the Sports Car Club of America. He had served in the National Guard. Besides his loving wife Sally surviving are two sisters: Jan (Denny) Wenzinger of New Bavaria and Cathy (Mike) Klein of Defiance. Aunts: Betty Mekus, Doris Mekus, Wanda Hostettler, Uncle: Albert (Marion) Mekus and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. John Catholic Church in Defiance at 2:00 P:M on Friday, May 21st, with Father John Stites officiating. Visitation is Thursday 2-8 and Friday from 1-2 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Suggested memorials are to the Defiance Area Hospice 6825 St. Rt.66 N.
