Connie Elaine Kellermyer, 83, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Blake Hospital in Bradenton.
She was born in Defiance, Ohio on September 18, 1943 to the late Wilfred and Georgia (Maschler) Dirr. Connie was a graduate of Defiance High School. On September 20, 1964 she married David Kellermyer who preceded her in death on April 20, 2024.
Connie was a member of First Church of God and Believer's International. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education and helped establish Rainbow Promise DayCare Center, where she taught for several years. She poured her heart and soul into education and truly loved her students and her church families. In addition to educating the youth, Connie dedicated many years to helping her husband, Dave, at Kellermyer Inc. In her leisure time she enjoyed swimming and pilates at the YMCA, and especially sitting outside soaking up the sun. She loved being with her family and following all the sports activities of her children and grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her children, Michelle Retcher of Bradenton, FL, Kirk Kellermyer of Defiance, Matthew Kellermyer of Taylors, SC, and Daniel Kellermyer of Defiance, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Nancy Deitrick, Julie Dirr, and Becky Schultz, and her sister-in-law, Janie Kellermyer.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Clark D. Kellermyer, and sister, Diana M. Horzelski.
A private Graveside Service will be held. Connie will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
