Obituary

Clayton C. "Bud" Callies, age 64, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

He was born on July 2, 1961 to Ralph Bucci and Susan Viladesau in Kingston, RI and raised by Clayton, Sr. and Margaret Callies, along with Michael Viladesau, Sr. On October 2, 2002 he married Lisa Miller. Bud proudly worked for General Motors in Defiance for 47 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #372 and Defiance UAW Local #211.

Above all things, Bud loved his children and grandchildren. He had a big heart and loved to make people laugh and share his love of food with everyone. He enjoyed going to the lake with his family and spending time on their boat. Bud loved to travel, visiting his family all over the country. He also enjoyed football, especially the Oklahoma Sooners and Miami Dolphins. He will be sadly missed by family members and friends.

Bud is survived by his loving spouse of 24 years Lisa, his four sons, Kevin (Breana) Callies of Thousand Oaks, CA, Kyle (Amber) Callies of Denver, CO, Anthony Urivez of Defiance, OH and Aaron (Rebecca) Urivez of Columbus, OH, his three grandchildren, Amhan Blair of Denver, CO, Christopher Callies of Denver, CO and Elliott Callies of Thousand Oaks, CA, his sister, Melonie Viladesau of West Palm Beach, FL, brother, Michael (Kathleen) Viladesau, Jr. of Orlando, FL and his dog Moose who he adored.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sheila and his dog, Boomer.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating.
