Clarence "Ollie" Oliver, 78, of rural Defiance, passed away on  Saturday, January 12, 2013 in his residence.

He was born on May 8, 1934 to Clarence and Barbara (Rosenbaum) Oliver in Sullivan County, TN. He married Joyce Osborne on July 20, 1956 and she passed away on August 19. 2008.  Surviving him are his children, Clarence L Oliver, Jr of Toledo, OH, Renee (Don) McKean of Marion, OH,  Penny (Dennis) Brown of Sorrento, FL,  Brenda (Robert Sigley) Oliver of Defiance, OH, gandchildren, Anne  (Josh) Oswalt, Amber (Michael) Kest, Jarrod Athy, Cari Oliver, geat grandchildren, Tate Oswalt, Kody Kest, Isabel Kest and Dakota  Oswalt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Nancy Oliver.

Ollie was a carpenter his entire life building his own house and worked at Johns Manville for 28 years retiring in 1989.  He was a US Army veteran.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, Defiance.

Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
