Cheryl Ann Urivez, 71, of Defiance, passed away on July 5, 2022 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 23, 1951 to Robert and Luana (Perrigo) Hax in Saginaw, Michigan.  On July 3, 1982 she married Oscar Urivez and quickly became a member of his family. Cheryl was a very active member of St John Catholic Church in Defiance where she was a part of the ladies Christ Renews group.  She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and bowling as well as going to garage sales and shopping.  Cheryl was a very giving person to those around her.  She loved to host large family gatherings. Cheryl is survived by her loving spouse of 40 years, Oscar.  She also leaves behind her children, Stacy Hall of Defiance; Oscar (Jennifer) Urivez, Jr. and Maureen (Jack) Russel both of Holland, Michigan; Christopher Pollitt of Decatur, Alabama; and Timothy (Christina) Omero of Defiance.   Cheryl was grandma to 18 grandchildren and sister to Judy Mills of Ontario, Canada and Nancy Wietfeldt of Midland, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert "Bobby" Hax.
