Cheryl M.  Burroughs, 61, of Defiance, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at her home in Defiance.

She was born on August 25, 1955 to Delbert and Jeannine (Mehring) Diemer in Defiance. On August 7, 1992 she married Larry Burroughs, who resides in Defiance.

Cheryl was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and Defiance Eagles Post #372. She owned and operated St. Michael's Country Club Restaurant. Cheryl loved to golf, enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing pool, and spending time with her family.

Cheryl will be sadly missed by her family; loving spouse of  24 years, Larry Burroughs of Defiance, parents, Jeannine and Delbert Diemer of Defiance, son, 1SG  Kerry (Jennifer) Schnitz of Germany, stepson, Nicholas (Krista) Burroughs of Ney, daughter, Kristy (Casey) Proudfit of Napoleon, stepdaughters, Jodi Burroughs and  Julie Burroughs, both of Grove City, Ohio, grandchildren;  Layne Schnitz-Paxton, Karissa Schnitz, Wyatt Proudfit, Hannah Burroughs, Carson Burroughs, Caden Burroughs, Kenley Burroughs, and  Laylah Burroughs, brothers, Terry (Tracy) Diemer of Toledo,  Mark (Linda) Diemer of Grove City, Ohio, Mitch (Melissa) Diemer, and sister, Dawn Gordon of Defiance.

Visitation will be held from  9:00-11:00 am, and 1:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. David Brobston officiating.
