Charles G. "Chuck" Wonderly, age 66 of Sherwood, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
He was born in Paulding, Ohio on October 27, 1959 to the late Kenneth "Dutch" and Madonna (Wilhelm) Wonderly. Chuck was a 1977 graduate of Fairview High School. On February 7, 1981 he married Marsha Meyer, who survives.
Chuck was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church The Bend. He was a life-long farmer and had a true passion for agriculture. He was a volunteer with Sherwood Fire Department, Mark Township Trustee, and past member of Fairview Young Farmers. He loved farming and spending time with his family, especially his three granddaughters, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marsha Wonderly of Sherwood, his children, Jason Wonderly of Continental, Matthew Wonderly, Nathan (Amanda) Wonderly, and Erin (Toby) Hill, all of Sherwood. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Kendall, Zoey and Whitley Hill, Brothers Albert (Kelly) Wonderly of Sherwood, Dan (Tanya) Wonderly of Farmer, and sisters Carol (Brian) Keegan and Mary (Jason) Wermer, all of Sherwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Madonna Wonderly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 5-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 5th at St. Isidore Catholic Church The Bend, with Fr. Melwin D'Souza officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in St. Isidore - St. Stephen's Cemetery.
