Charles Sholl 91 of Defiance Died July 17, 2014 at Laurels of Defiance. He was born March 17, 1923 to Theodore and Estella (Link) Sholl in Oakwood Ohio. On October 18, 1947 he married Jean Fair who survives. Chuck retired from Dinner Bell Foods of Defiance in 1988. He is a Veteran of the United States Navy and World War II. Charles was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a life member of VFW Post 3360, Defiance Eagles, Knights of Columbus and the Prop Floppers. He enjoyed gardening, building model airplanes and building furniture. He especially enjoyed building furniture for his grandchildren. In addition to be survived by his wife he is also survived by: Sons: Don Sholl - Defiance Mike (Judy) Sholl - Defiance Daughters: Karen (Roger) Wilson - Montpelier Patricia Sholl - Livermore California Sue (Bruce) Gerlinger - Advance, North Carolina Brothers: Gerald (Rosie) Sholl - Oakwood Walter (Martha) Sholl - Ayersville Vincent (Shirley) Sholl - Oakwood Leo (Janet) Sholl - Oakwood Sister: Catherine Cline - Defiance 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by a son Douglas, his parents, and a brother Joseph Friends may call at the Lawson Roessner Funeral Home from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 on Friday. A vigil service will be held at 7:00Pm Friday evening at the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00AM Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church Defiance. Burial will be at Riverview Memory Gardens.
