Charles R. Reece Charles R. Reece, 84, of Defiance, passed Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 at St. Clair Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He had lived with his daughter in Morehead, Ky. for the past 4 years. He was born in Dobson, North Carolina on November 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Watson) Reece. Charles married Eva A. Callicoat April 16, 1960 and she died May 1, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II. He was a life member of DAV #36 and a life member of VFW #3360. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Jeffers Crane Service retiring in 1991. A member of Local 18. Surviving are a daughter: Sandra Henderson of Morehead, Ky. four grandchildren: Cathy (James) Lewis of Bethel, Ky., Dora (James) Swary of Defiance, Joey Henderson of Sherwood and Jamie Henderson of Bryan, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Eva and two brothers Pete and Ralph Reece. Service at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10th. Visitation is Friday 4-9 and Saturday 10-1 at Lawson-Roessner Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery where VFW Post # 3360 will conduct honorary military graveside rites.
