"Chuck" Lehman
March 8, 1928 – February 11, 2018
Charles H. "Chuck" Lehman, 89 of Jewell, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital. Chuck was born on March 8, 1928 to Ed and Pauline (Gaylord) Lehman in Defiance. He graduated from Jewell High School in 1946, and then attended Defiance College. He retired after 38 years from General Motors in Defiance. On April 30, 1950 he married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Kammeyer) Lehman, who resides in Defiance.
He was a faithful member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, and he loved The Lord. In past years he was a life member of the Jewell Fire Department, a long-time treasurer of the Tinora Athletic Boosters, a leader of Boy Scout Troop 128 in Jewell, and a former Church Council member. Chuck enjoyed gardening and he loved to play golf, but most of all he enjoyed being together with his family. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Ann Lehman, and his four children, Steve (Cindy) Lehman of Defiance, Ron (Cookie) Lehman of Defiance, Jody (Dave) Vining of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Scott (Tahra) Lehman of Cape Coral, Florida. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a brother, Paul (Betty) Lehman of Toledo, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Carl, and Bob Lehman, and a granddaughter, Sara Jane Lehman. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Defiance, with Pastor Lee Genter officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the church, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
