Cecilia D. Salinas Vargas, 70, of Defiance, passed away on  January 3, 2014 at the Toledo Hospital.

She was born on February 22, 1943 to Vincent and Thomasa Salinas at Brownsville , TX. . Cecilia worked as a Homemaker  . In 2002  she married Benjamin  Vargas Malave.

She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church Defiance, OH .

Cecilia is survived by her loving spouse, Benjamin Vargas Malave of Defiance, OH, son, David  Rhodes of Cape Coral, FL, son, Benny Joe Vargas of Ft. Myers, FL, son, Miguel (Dana) Vargas of Cape Coral, FL, son, Julio Vargas of Defiance, daughter, Kathy (Aurelio) Valasquez of Ft. Myers, FL, daughter, Linda (Robert) Alford of Tiffin, OH, daughter, Helen Vargas of Napoleon, OH, daughter, Sara (Rosalio) Castrejon of Ft. Myers, FL, 19 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, 6 brothers, 4 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert Vargas, sister, Lupe Garza.

Visitation will be held  at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio on Thursday, January 9,  from 2-6 pm with a rosary service at 3:00 pm.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday January 10 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 am with Father John Stites officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
