Cecilia Rita Castillo, 61, of Defiance, passed away on November 28, 2014 at the Defiance CHP Hospice Center, with her family by her side.

She was born on May 8, 1953 to Miguel and Elevinia Sanchez in Carrizo Springs , TX. Cecilia worked for Bud's Restaurant for over 27 years. On August 20, 1977 she married Hilario J. Castillo at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Defiance, Ohio. Cecilia and Hilario lived in Defiance, Ohio.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a big Ohio State Buckeyes Fan. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, cross stitching and making blankets and pillows for all her family and friends. Anyone who has a treasured keepsake made by Cecilia are welcome to bring it and display it for the evening of the showing.
She loved spending time with her granddaughter and trips to Ft Wayne to visit her son. Sunday brunch at her mom's house with all her loving family was a weekly tradition.

Cecilia is survived by her loving spouse Hilario, of 37 years, daughter, Michelle (Gabriel) Valle of Defiance, OH, son, Hilario "Jay" M. Castillo, Fort Wayne IN, granddaughter, Lucia Roma Valle, Defiance, Mother, Elevinia Sanchez of Defiance, Siblings, Miguel (Mary) Sanchez, Defiance, Delores (Bruce) Gamiere, Defiance, Robert (Barb) Sanchez, Defiance, Theresa (Mark) Ordaz, Raul Sanchez, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Miguel Sanchez.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 2014, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with a vigil service at 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Father Randy Giesige, officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
