Carolyn A. Franke, age 77 of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Fountain Park Assisted Care Facility in Bryan, Ohio.

She was born in Berea, Kentucky on February 18, 1949 to the late Ike Thomas and Bessie Pearl (Griffin) McCollum. Carolyn was a graduate of School of the Deaf in Columbus, Ohio. She worked for several years as a seamstress at Capital City Awning. Carolyn enjoyed gardening, word search puzzles, and loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Patty (Harry) Miller of Montpelier, and Ryan Rhoden of Indianapolis, IN. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her brothers, Delbert (Sherri) McCollum, Randy (Louise) McCollum, and Larry (Ivy) McCollum, and her sisters, Shirley (Albert) Smith, Bonnie Cowger, and Judy Canter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby McCollum.

Private services will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
