Obituary

Carole Rae (Roser) Christen joined the Lord on Saturday evening August 30, 2014. She was born August 27, 1941 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Harold K. and Edna H. (Talley) Roser and was a graduate of Ellet High School class of 1959.

On September 8, 1963 she married Robert R. Christen who died in 1976. Upon their marriage, Carole moved to Defiance, Ohio where she resided until her death. She was a devoted member of Zion's Lutheran Church in Defiance and enjoyed attending art fairs and supporting local jewelry artists and was particularly drawn to contemporary design.

Carole received an Associates Degree from Hammel Actual Business College in Akron and served as a Wal-Mart Sales Associate for 24 years at the Napoleon store. She is survived by her son Ross R. Christen and daughter-in-law Renee Christen of Atlanta, Georgia; sister Vivian (Roser) Long and brother-in-law Ron Long of The Villages, Florida; and brother Kenneth Roser and his wife, Sandy, of Uniontown, Ohio. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends and co-workers.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Chapel located within Riverview Memory Gardens, 29231 Co Rd 424 in Defiance followed by a brief service at the Riverview Chapel by Pastor Tim Reynolds of Zion's Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon in celebration of her life will follow.
