Carole was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who lived her life filled with purpose and passion. She was very proud to pursue a career in nursing, and was a loving and caring nurse for several years. In her leisure time she enjoyed crafts, gardening and flowers, and most of all spending time with her kids and grandkids. Carole will be greatly missed by her family and many good friends.

Carole is survived by her loving husband James Bennett of Defiance, and her sons, Edward (Laurie Hockenberry) Bennett, Mark (Theresa) Bennett, Jonathon (Tara Blair) Bennett, and Scott (Julie Weber) Bennett. She also leaves behind her brothers, John (Benita) Fenter, Paul "Corky" Fenter, and Stephen (Karen) Fenter, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Cole A. Bennett, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Bennett.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at St. John Catholic Church in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 noon at the church, with Fr. Kevin McGraw officiating. Carole will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
