Carol A. Dingus, 73, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on April 20, 1949 to Glen and Thelma (Roehrig) Carnahan at Defiance, Ohio. On February 18, 1969 she married Vernon Dingus and he preceded her in death on August 27, 2013.  Carol was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and coloring but, above all she loved spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Defiance VFW Auxiliary Post #3360. Carol is survived by her loving children son, Donald Dingus, daughters, Teresa Auer and Tesla (Anthony) Davis, all of Defiance, OH, ten grandchildren; and her siblings, Michael (Karol) Carnahan of Cecil, OH, Beverly (Timothy) Stockman of Bluffton, OH, Randy (Diane) Carnahan of Temperance, MI, Garry (Monica) Carnahan of Napoleon, OH, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon, daughter Valerie, and granddaughter Candice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home South, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the Fort Defiance Humane Society.
