John W. "Bill"  Dunno, 86, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at VA Northern Indiana Healthcare Sysyem Hospital in Marion, Indiana.

He was born on October 21, 1930 to John and Clara Dunno in Napoleon, Ohio.  Bill served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  On September 11, 1954 he married Ivaloo (Steingass) Dunno, who preceded him in death on October 18, 2004. He attended Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren, and was a life member of VFW Post #3360.  He retired from Dinner Bell Foods in Defiance. Bill was a Detroit Tigers fan, and enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, harness racing, and eating at Bud's Restaurant and Kissner's in Defiance.

Bill will be sadly missed by his daughters, Julie Dunno of Defiance, Janet (Ron) Kruger of Francesville, Indiana, and Joyce (Doug) Wachtman of Defiance, sons, John Dunno and Jay Dunno of Defiance, and Jeff Dunno of Avilla, Indiana, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters, Ella Mae Clifton of Delta, and Bonnie Green of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am  on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren,  with Rev. Benjamin Polzin officiating. Burial will  follow the service at Poplar Ridge Cemetery, with graveside military rites accorded by VFW Post #3360.
