Bienvenida Soler Velez, 88, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at  Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.

She was born on March 14, 1928 to Manuel and Francisca (Terron) Velez in Puerto Rico.  In 1944 she married Eliodoro Concepcion, who preceded her in death in 1971. She was a member of Church of God - La Igiesia De Dios in Defiance. Bienvenida loved spending time with her family, and her dog Gizmo.

Bienvenida will be greatly missed by her children; Johnny Concepcion, Carmen (Juan Pablo) Hernandez, Jose Angel (Margarita) Concepcion, Luis Concepcion,  Aida (Juan) Gonzalez,  Gladis (Glen) Rodgers, Blanca Velez, Maria Concepcion, Olga Gomez, Anibal  (Christina) Concepcion, 40 Grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and children, Orlando Concepcion, Hector Concepcion, and Rene Concepcion.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the funeral home, with Pastor Waldemar Cruz, officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
