JACKSON, Mich. - Beulah "Bea" Rau passed away peacefully at Bethany Care Center, Jackson, Mich., on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
She was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Paulding, Ohio, to Ralph D. Iler Sr. and Elsie (Keck) Iler. She and Donald "Duck' Rau were married July 24, 1954. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2000.
She retired after 10 years with Charter Cable in Coldwater, Mich. She and her husband, Don, had formerly owned the "R" Family Restaurant, Ney, Ohio, and the Safari Sands in Holiday City.
Surviving are children, Roger (Mary Jo) of Defiance, Donald Eric (Laura) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Susan Singer Keesbury (Rex) of Ney, Michael (Susie) of Guntersville, Ala., John of Quincy, Mich., and Scott (Amanda) of Waikotoa, Hawaii; one brother, Walt Iler of Defiance; one sister, Phyllis Tullock of Napoleon; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-stepgrandchild; and one great-great-stepgrandchild.
Visitation is at 2 p.m. today, May 22, with services at 4 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home in Defiance.
