Betty L. Struble, 87, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on November 12, 1929 to Earl and Theo (Pifer) Schaeffer in Fremont, Indiana. In 1950 she married Floyd Struble, who preceded her in death in 1998. Betty worked as a Nurse's Aide for over eleven years at Defiance Hospital. She was a member of Defiance Moose and VFW Auxiliary.

Betty will be sadly missed by her sons, Mark Struble of Toledo, David Struble of  Ft. Wayne, Indiana, adopted son, Sean Struble, daughter, Linda Hickey of Defiance, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd R Struble, and a brother, Wayne Schaeffer.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the funeral home, with  Rev. Daryl Hart officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
