Betty Lou Hill, 71, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday evening June 22, 2013.

She was born June 2, 1942 in Defiance and was the second youngest child of 14 children born to Albert James and Helen Elizabeth (Martin) Mansfield.

On April 26, 1967 in Clintwood, Virginia she married Danny A. Hill and he survives.

Betty Lou is also survived by her son, Danny A. Hill, II and wife Laureen of Defiance, her granddaughter Jessica Hill of Dalton, GA and her brother Roland "Bo" Mansfield and wife Loretta of Defiance.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; Laura Swihart, Mildren Retcher, Viola Hamm and Anna Mansfield; her eight brothers; Earnest, Clifford, Leonard, Victor, Russel, Gale, Albert and Walter Mansfield.

Betty Lou worked for many years at Johns Manville and was a member the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #3360, Defiance.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 2 to 8pm in the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral service for Betty Lou will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 11:00am in the funeral home with Rev. David Brobston officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance. A luncheon will follow at the VFW Post #3360.
