Betty A. Kahle
Elizabeth A. "Betty" Kahle, 71, of Defiance, passed away Monday, September 20th, 2010 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on April 10, 1939, in Defiance, to the late Melvin and Dorothy (Coressel) Nagel. On Oct. 26, 1957 she married Richard L. (Dick) Kahle of Defiance .
Betty graduated from North Richland Adams High School. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church & was also involved in the Altar & Rosary Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was the secretary for Kahle Builders & Supply and The Kitchen Center, a hospital volunteer, & a childcare provider to many families. She was involved in ladies card club & couples card club for over 45 years. She loved taking care of her flower gardens and lawn. Betty enjoyed being a good wife, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dick, of 52 years and her six children: Kevin (Cathy) Kahle of Defiance, Karen (Greg) Timmons of Defiance, Diane (Ben) Buley of Arden, N.C., David (Pam) Kahle of Defiance, Bruce (Heidi) Kahle of Napoleon, Buffy Raptis of Ft. Wayne, IN. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Chad (Jenelle), Derek and Logan Kahle, Chelsie, Ryan, and Haley Timmons, Abby, Taylor, Chance, Aaron (Joanna), and Mekensey Buley, Kari, Kurt, and Klay Kahle, Ellen Kahle, Grant Weber & Alexander Raptis and 3 great grandchildren: Lily and Sophia Kahle and Kennedy Buley;
sister, Rose Nagel, Tucson, AZ, & brother, Victor (Sharon) Nagel, Hudson, FL. She is also survived by her faithful companion, her dog, Bucky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church - the Ridge, at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 23rd, with Father Robert Kill and Father David Tscherne officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-8 pm at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with an 8:00 pm Vigil Service.
