Betty Mae Donaldson
Betty Mae Donaldson, 71, of rural Oakwood, passed away Thursday, November 8th, 2012 in her home.
Born to Thomas and Anna Fay (Campbell) Pumphrey on June 1, 1941 in "Almost Heaven" Weston, West Virginia. On Dec. 10, 1956 she married Dorsey "Shorty" Donaldson who preceded her in death Nov. 20, 2003. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Rick (Barbara) DeSota.
Betty was an active member of the Church of the Brethren and on the witness committee. A former member of the Centenary Church of Oakwood where she helped with vacation bible school. Betty enjoyed canning anything she could get her hands on and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara DeSota of Continental,
sister: Oleta Hasselschwert of Defiance,
brothers: Roger Pumphrey of Wooster, Oh., Bud Pumphrey of Massillon, Oh., Frank Pumphrey of Clarksburg, W. Va.
She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Daniel (Misty) DeSota, Rich (Heidi) DeSota and Ron DeSota all of Defiance, 3 great grandchildren, and a special nephew and niece: Tom and Lynn Hitt.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance, at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 12th, with Rev. Gene Yenser officiating.
Visitation is Monday 11-2:30 at Lawson-Roessner.
Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental
