Betty E. Davis, age 95 of Defiance, entered into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on  Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 18, 1924 to John and Nellie (Mansfield) Limber in Defiance, Ohio.  In 1942 she married Harold Davis, who preceded her in death in 2000.  Betty was a member of Defiance Christian Church, and Defiance American Legion Auxiliary.  Her primary focus in life was her family by being a loving mother and homemaker.  She also found time to be a cook at Leisure Oaks Nursing Home, Apartment Manager at Winthrop Terrace Apartments in Defiance, and trailer park manager at Crystal River in Florida.

Betty will be sadly missed by her son, Jon (Dawn) Davis of Defiance, daughters, Susie Geiger of Defiance, Linda (Paul) Bogatko of Caldwell, OH, Cindy (Timothy) Predieri of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Kay Emerson of Defiance. She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Davis, a daughter, Pat Holtsberry,  her sister, Doris Throne, and brothers, George, John, Dick, and Jack Limber. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and from 10-11 am at the church on Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Defiance Christian Church, with Minister Michael Hasselbring and Minister David Boswell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Ayersville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
