Betty Irene Bowling age 81 of Defiance, went to her heavenly home Wednesday July 16, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born to Lewis and Mabel (Eitniear) Hardy on June 18, 1933 in Defiance County. On February 2, 1952 she married Leland Bowling who died October 1, 2002. Betty was employed at Campbell Soup for 25 years retiring in 1988. She and her husband Leland owned Bowling Trucking. Betty was a devoted member of Grace Bible Church of Defiance. She is survived by: Sons: Gary (Judy) Bowling - Defiance Kent Bowling - Defiance LaVon (Colleen) Bowling - Defiance Charley (Rita) Bowling- Defiance Daughters: Christyna Bowling - Defiance Darlene Peterson - Defiance Brothers: Vernon Hardy of Texas Sisters: Sharon (Jerry) Ruff - Rockford, Illinois As well as many grandchildren and great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband Leland, her parents and two brothers Norman and John Hardy. Funeral services for Betty will be held at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:00AM. After the graveside ceremony at Myers Cemetery, a Memorial Luncheon will follow at Grace Bible Church. Visitation for Betty will be held from 5:00 - 8:00PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
