Bessie B Price, 77, of Defiance, passed away on  April 28, 2013 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center with her family at her side.

She was born on May 6, 1935 to Erwin and Eula (Jones) Lawson in Coeburn, VA. She attended school at Coeburn High School graduating in 1953. On November 16, 1953 she married James C. Price.

She was a member of the Tiffin Township Fireflies & enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, reading, & crocheting.

Bessie is survived by her son, Michael (Susan) Price of Defiance, OH, daughter, Janet Price of Evansport, OH, grandchildren, Benjamin, Jennifer & Jade Price, sister, Mildred (Biddle) Steel of WV, sister, Kathryn Holbrook of VA, sister, Mary  Holbrook of TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; James C Price, brothers; Bob & Charles Lawson, & sister, Hazel Hartsock.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, 4:00 pm at the Evansport United Methodist Church, with Rev. Becky Ploughe, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Evansport Cemetery.
