Bernadine E. Gustwiller Bernadine E. Gustwiller, 91, of Defiance, passed away Sunday, February 9th, 2014 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Henry County, Ohio on October 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Hazel Siefert. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the New Bavaria VFW auxiliary. She was the widow of Eugene A. Gustwiller who died June 24, 1994. Bernadine worked in the bakery department at Hench's and then Chief Grocery for for over 40 years retiring in 2003. She had also worked at the Zeller Co. and All-Star Products. She will be greatly missed by her daughter: Vicky (Stephen) Lieswyn of Defiance sons: Dan (Rhonda) Gustwiller of Defiance, Doug Gustwiller of New Burgh, Indiana 3 grandchildren: Leah (Robert) Jones of St. Paul, Minnesota, Adam and Nicholas Lieswyn both of Toledo. She was preceded in death by a sister Marie Nienberg and a half brother Bill Siefert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday,February12, 2014 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Friends are invited to call Tuesday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Defiance.
